Rector: Steve Lindblade
October 19-22, 2023

Brothers,

Welcome to Space City Men’s Weekend #7!  My name is Steve Lindblade.  My lovely wife, Stephanie, and my wonderful daughter, Hosanna, worship and serve at Real Life Ministries Waller.  Our other two amazing children, Nathan and Rebekah, are in school at Texas A&M and Louisiana Tech, respectively.  I am truly honored and thankful to be serving this weekend as your Rector.  I am deeply humbled that God would choose me to lead the SCTD #7 Men’s Team to demonstrate His Grace to you this weekend.

As I have been praying for you and for SCTD Men’s Weekend #7 over the last several months, God has laid His vision on my heart for this weekend.  Do you want more of His Grace, His free gift of Grace?  I want more of His amazing Grace!  1 Pet 5:5-6 says, “And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.  Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time”.  He gives Grace to the humble.  One of the underlying themes of the weekend is humility.  How do we walk in it?  We can look to Jesus as an example as He came not to be served, but to serve.  We are to be like Christ as He commands us to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Him.  Less of me and more of Him!  Be like Christ.  This leads us to the weekend verse which is Gal 2:20 that says: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”  How amazing! It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me!  No longer I … but Christ.  This, my friends, is how we walk in humility and allow His life, His love, and His light to shine through us.

I am excited to see how God uses all of us through this journey and to see Him do His mighty work.  My continued prayer for you and the team is for the weekend to be transformational in that we will all become more like Christ.  To truly walk in humility, be transformed into His image and become like Him as we are His hands and feet.

As the weekend approaches, I will continue to lift you in prayer.  My dear sister in Christ, Mary Ellen Mitchell will be the Rector for the Women’s SCTD #7 weekend on October 26th-29th.  Please lift her and the women’s team up in prayer in addition to the men’s team as we prepare for the weekend.

I hope to see you at the Men’s SCTD #7 weekend on October 19th-22nd.

In His Love,
Steve Lindblade
