Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
Welcome to Space City Tres Dias Women’s Weekend #14. I am humbled and honored to be serving as your Rector Cha for this weekend. My incredible husband, Steven Ruth, and I worship and serve at Redeemer Church in Manvel with our 2 daughters. Our son serves at University Baptist Church as well as at Redeemer.
Steven and I were blessed to attend South East Texas Tres Dias #14 in 2013. Attending that weekend and especially serving on other weekends has helped us to grow in servant leadership. I delight in watching women who would have never looked at themselves as a leader bloom into ones. I also appreciate seeing how God teaches women who tend to be leaders how to serve, train, and give other ladies the opportunity to learn to lead.
I am waiting expectantly for those attending and serving on #14. It is astounding to think that God knew before He created the world who would be on this weekend. Acts 17:26b-27 reminds us that “He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out to for Him and find Him. . ..” God has something for each one of us, whether we are attending or serving, and desires to speak to each one of us in a unique way as we seek His face. As you pray for the upcoming women’s weekend, I also request that you pray for Bill Cook, our men’s Rector, his team and for the candidates as well.
